At the moment, Montage only publishes work by undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Submissions must be sent as email attachments to email@example.com. Every submission must include your name, NetID, and submission type (prose, poetry, art, drama) in the body of your email. In the subject line of your email, include your name and submission type (e.g., FELIX DAWKINS – ART).
Do not include any identifying information in the submitted work. Please do not submit again until you are contacted by Montage with a final decision on your work.
PROSE submissions may include up to 3,000 words contained within one prose piece or multiple prose pieces per person. Montage accepts short fiction, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction.
POETRY submissions may include up to 300 lines contained within one poem or multiple poems per person. All poetic forms are welcome.
ART submissions may include up to 10 pieces of visual art. If you can’t scan your work (e.g., oil paintings, installation art), take the best picture you can of it and send it as an email attachment.
DRAMA submissions may include excerpted screenplays or one-act plays of up to 3,000 words.
All written pieces must be set in 12 point Times New Roman font and sent as separate Word documents. Number each page. Include only the title of each piece in the file name.
All art and photography must be sent as separate JPEG or PNG image files. Include only the title of each piece in the file name.

Submission constitutes legal permission granting Montage Arts Journal first print publication rights and electronic publication rights with the understanding that, unfortunately, neither Montage nor the University can or will recompense authors or artists for their work or the rights to publish that work. Work may not be submitted anonymously, but may be published anonymously at the request of the author or artist and at the discretion of the Editors. No materials submitted to Montage will be returned. The University of Illinois, Montage Arts Journal, and the Montage Staff are not responsible for lost or misplaced submissions.
