Hello everyone! My name is Jessica Sung, and I will be heading Montage next year as the journal’s new Editor-in-Chief. I am excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the following editorial and administrative positions:
Prose Editor: oversee reviewing process of prose submissions, collect ratings from editorial assistants, attend weekly meetings
Poetry Editor: oversee reviewing process of poetry submissions, collect ratings from editorial assistants, attend weekly meetings
Art & Design Editor: design publication layout and cover, oversee reviewing process of art submissions, collect ratings from editorial assistants, attend weekly meetings
Fundraising Officer: arrange fundraising events, generate fundraising ideas
Events Officer: arrange and host open mic events, generate event ideas
If you are interested in applying for any of these positions, please email the following materials as attachments (.doc or .pdf) to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Brief cover letter that answers the following questions: Who are you (name, year, major, brief bio)? Why do you want to join Montage? Who are your top five favorite authors, poets, and/or artists?
- Editorial: One writing sample relevant to your position of interest (e.g., a few poems, a short story, previous design work, etc.)
- Administrative: One or two paragraphs detailing some possible fundraising or event ideas
- The subject line must include your name and position of interest (e.g., Walter White Fundraising Officer, Tina Belcher Poetry Editor, etc.)

Note: if you want to join Montage as an editorial assistant, you do not need to submit an application. Simply choose an editorial “team” to join (prose, poetry, or art) and send me an email indicating your interest. Editorial assistants will review and rate submissions, copyedit accepted work, and attend weekly meetings.
